About Ekomé

It started with a toddler and a very empty pantry

A few years ago, one of us was a new mother trying to figure out what to feed a bored, picky toddler who had already rejected everything in the kitchen — again. The usual options just weren’t working. Regular pasta was the one thing that always got eaten, but the kind you find on most shelves? Refined flour, zero nutrition, nothing you’d feel good about giving a child every day.

That frustration sat with us for a while. And then, the way most good ideas happen between close friends — over a long conversation, somewhere between chai and complaining — we asked ourselves: why isn’t there a pasta made from ingredients that actually nourish?

That question became Ekomé.

The problem with everyday pasta

Most pasta in India is made from maida — refined wheat flour that’s been stripped of its fibre, protein, and nutritional value. It fills you up quickly and lets you down just as fast. For children, for health-conscious adults, for anyone trying to eat a little more intentionally — it’s a daily compromise most people don’t even realise they’re making.
We wanted to change that. Not by making pasta complicated or expensive or something you’d only eat on a “health day.” But by making a version of it that fits seamlessly into real, everyday life.

Why these ingredients

We chose Chickpea, Makhana, Oats, and Rajgira for a reason. These aren’t trendy superfoods imported from abroad — they’re ingredients rooted in Indian kitchens and Indian tradition for centuries. They’re familiar, they’re clean, and nutritionally, they’re extraordinary.
Chickpea brings up to 22g of plant protein per 100g. Makhana is light, rich in calcium, and easy on digestion. Oats bring beta-glucan fibre that supports heart health. Rajgira — amaranth — is an ancient grain packed with iron, calcium, and essential amino acids.
Each Ekomé pasta is made from just one of these ingredients. No blends, no fillers, no maida hiding in the fine print.

Built by two friends, in Delhi & Chandigarh

We are two best friends who wanted to build something of our own — something that meant something. Ekomé gave us both of those things. It started as a solution to one mother’s very real problem, and it grew into a brand we genuinely believe in.
Every product we make is something we give to our own families first. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to, and it’s the promise we make to yours.

Our vision

We started with pasta because that’s where the problem was clearest. But our vision is bigger. We want Ekomé to become the brand that quietly reimagines the everyday staples millions of Indian families eat — one clean, wholesome, better-for-you product at a time.
Food that nourishes without asking you to change the way you live. That’s what we’re building.
